The 2018-19 ski season has been nothing short of magical. Seriously, the entire county can’t stop smiling. Thanks to this season’s astonishing amount of snowfall—more than 22 feet since opening early on November 7—Breckenridge Ski Resort is extending its season by five weeks. The resort plans to stay open through Memorial Day Weekend (May 27), offering skiing and riding out of Peak 7, with access to primarily advanced- and expert-level terrain on Peak 8 in Imperial, Horseshoe and North Bowls, accessed by the Independence SuperChair, Imperial Express SuperChair and the TBar Lift while conditions allow.
This epic, record-smashing season began with the ski resort reporting the most snow accumulation and open terrain by Thanksgiving weekend in over a decade. Momentum snowballed (yep) from there with foot after powdery foot falling in January and February. Five feet blanketed Breckenridge in just the first week of March and the month continued to collect 111 total inches, notching the snowiest March on record for Breckenridge Ski Resort. We’re rolling into May with fresh wax and plenty of sunscreen. Spring skiing has never been better!
